Katherine Bassil is a neuroscientist and Assistant Professor of Neuroethics at the Julius Center, University Medical Center Utrecht. Her work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, neurotechnology, ethics, and science communication, with a focus on the ethical and societal implications of emerging brain technologies. She is particularly interested in neural implants, neuroscience models, biomarkers, AI in mental healthcare, and responsible research communication. Katherine is the founder of Neuroethics Today, an educational platform dedicated to raising awareness of neuroethics and engaging the public in conversations about neuroscience. She is also the current Polymath Initiative Fellow of Neurotechology at the Geneva Center for Security and Peace and co-founder of the Arab Neuroethics Network.
